Watauga County Farmer's Market, Boone, NC. It's no secret that we love the farmer's market. Real people selling real food. And sometimes real cold, like one October a while back, but not usually. The farmer's market is located in the Horn of the West parking lot in Boone and runs from "8 AM until sellout," the latter usually occurring around noon or so. We will probably start around 9:00 AM. Come support your local farmers and local musicians. There is some excellent finger food (and beverages) to be had while you are wandering around and listening, too. As usual when we play the farmer's market, this will be more of a toned-down acoustic deal. To get there, Take 105 Extension. Turn at the new First Citizens Bank onto Horn Avenue. Go 500 feet and the farmer's market is on the left. For more info about the farmer's market, visit http://wataugacountyfarmersmarket.org/index.html. This show is free and open to the public.

Anderson Soiree, downtown Anderson, South Carolina. We're going to be playing on the mainstage from about 5-7 PM, right before the Vegas-era Elvis impersonator dude (late breaking news--he's not an impersonator, he's an "Elvis tribute artist"; *sigh*, another "artist formerly known as..."). Cotton candy, funnel cakes, pork BBQ, local forecasters, scary clowns, carnival rides of questionable safety...it's the real deal--not to be missed. Photo.

Last year they had deep-fried Twinkies, too. Uh, ...yum. We are scheduled to play at 10:40 AM (this is a change from earlier), and we will play for about 50 minutes.

At Black Cat Burrito, 127 S. Depot St., Boone, NC, opening for Atlanta's A Fir-Ju Well. These guys play great original pop-psych-rock songs. If you want to hear for yourself, check out the song samples on their website (link above), especially "Magnet Lightning Bugs." We don't get this type of thing in Boone often, so please don't miss it. If you are still not sure, call Rich, and he will grovel.
